Today, March 8th, marks the 113th International Women’s Day. As a brand proudly founded by a woman, celebrating and cherishing the inspiring ladies in our lives is a year-round affair. In honor of this day, however, we thought it was as good a day as any to share some wisdom on beauty, balance, and being a Good Egg from women who impress us with their passion, talent, and intellect on a daily basis. May their sentiments below resonate with you today and every day!
“Being a Good Egg means being born with the chance to be good, but taking it to be kind, open-hearted, and loving to those around you.”
Dr. Eunice Park
Facial plastic surgeon & founder of AIREM
“Earlier in my career, I thought success could only be achieved by working to the brink of exhaustion. After having three kids and balancing the demands of building a business and motherhood, I now embrace rest. I find it critical to be intentional and schedule time to recharge, otherwise, it can escape us. Rest allows me to bring my best to others.
“The best beauty advice I’ve ever received is to moisturize, wear sunscreen, not pick at pimples, and avoid taking hot showers. (I’m still having trouble following that last one — oops!)”
Dr. Jennifer Tsai
“Beauty starts from the inside, and that's with good skin.”
Madewell’s art director
“I try to strike a balance in my life through my photography. Although I’m shooting imagery for work most of the time, I’ve committed to capturing more ‘life moments’ just for myself — whether that’s my nieces acting silly, a favorite meal in the city, or memories from travels that make me laugh out loud. I like the idea of creating and keeping these snapshots for my own archive, in balance with all the professional work that I usually share with others.”
Julie Rene Tran
Cofounder of ĐẶC BIỆT, a creative marketing agency that works with musicians, like Raye, Umi, and Keshi
“I feel the most beautiful when I am fresh out of the shower! I feel rejuvenated; I smell good, and my skin is clean and glowing. I also enjoy this me moment where I can be present with myself and feel beautiful without distractions.”
